Every Room in Aligned includes an Internal tab that clients never see. Use the Internal tab in a Room for deal notes, forecasts, internal commentary, and working files your team needs while the deal is live. The Internal tab is created with every new Room and cannot be deleted. Everyone on your team who can see the Room can see and edit the Internal tab.
Prerequisites & Requirements
Room: Every Room has one Internal tab. You do not need to create it.
Permissions: Everyone on your team who can see the Room can see and edit the Internal tab. That includes the Room owner, Room Collaborators, and anyone else on your account who can see the Room, such as Managers, Admins, and the Owner.
What the Internal tab is for
The Internal tab in a Room keeps team-only content next to the client-facing content of the same deal. Common uses:
Deal notes and next steps for your team
Forecasts, pricing discussions, and approval status
Internal files, such as a discount approval or a draft proposal
Context for a teammate taking over the deal
Use the Internal tab for your deal playbook
The Internal tab keeps your deal playbook next to the deal it applies to. Add your sales methodology, talk tracks for key calls, discovery questions, and objection handling, so everyone working the deal follows the same plan. Clients never see the Internal tab, so your team's guidance stays inside the Room without reaching the client.
How to add content to the Internal tab
You add content to the Internal tab in a Room the same way you add it to any other tab:
Open the Room.
Select the Internal tab.
Click Add section and choose the section type.
Add your content and save.
Sections you add to the Internal tab stay invisible to clients. You do not need to hide them.
What clients see
Clients never see the Internal tab in a Room, or anything in it. The Internal tab does not appear in the Room's tab bar for clients, and its content does not appear when a client searches the Room.
Internal tab vs. hidden tabs vs. Internal Notes
Aligned has three ways to keep content from clients, and each one fits a different need:
Internal tab: a permanent team-only tab in every Room. Clients never see it.
Hidden tab: a client-facing tab you are still building. Clients see it once you unhide it. See Room Structure: Organizing a Long Room into Tabs.
Internal Notes: team-only comments inside a Room conversation. See Internal Notes: Keep team-only comments private in Room conversations.
Limitations
The Internal tab cannot be deleted. It is one of the three default tabs, together with Files and Plan.
One Internal tab per Room. You cannot create a second one.
It counts toward the tab limit. A Room can have up to ten tabs in total, including the tabs it is created with.
It cannot be saved as a tab template. See Saved Tab Templates.
Secured Tabs do not apply to it. See Secured Tabs: Restrict Tab Access for External Clients.
