Secured Tabs lets you lock specific tabs in a Room and grant access only to permitted people or companies. Use it when you want one Room to serve multiple stakeholders, while keeping sensitive tabs restricted. When a buyer opens a locked tab, Aligned prompts them to request access and complete email verification. Use Secured Tabs to keep the Room structure the same while controlling who can open each tab.
Prerequisites & Requirements
Plan: Pro, Enterprise
Permissions: Any user who can enter Edit mode in the Room
Technical Specs: Require email verification when you lock a tab
Scope: Apply Secured Tabs to all tabs except the Internal, plan and files tabs.
How to lock a tab and set Tab Permissions
Open the Room.
Enter Edit mode.
Open the tab menu on the tab you want to restrict.
Click Edit Tab Permissions.
Toggle Lock → On.
Add allowed users to the permitted list.
Close the drawer.
What the Buyer sees
When the buyer opens the locked tab, Aligned shows a request-access modal and prompts email verification.
How to unlock a tab for everyone
Open the Room.
Enter Edit mode.
Open the tab menu.
Click Edit Tab Permissions.
Toggle Lock → Off.
How a buyer access to a locked tab
Open the Room.
Click the locked tab.
In the modal, fill your email and click Enter.
Enter your email.
Complete email verification from your inbox.
What the Buyer sees
After verification, Aligned opens the tab.
Troubleshooting & Error States

You need to be in an Edit mode, then open the tab menu again.

More than adding at least one permitted user in Tab Permissions, you need to turn On the lock Toggle.

Everyone will see the modal, always. But you can add the buyer’s email to the permitted list in Tab Permissions, then tell them to refresh the tab so they could access the tab.

Tell the buyer to search for the verification email (including spam), then retry the flow and re-enter their email.
