Overview
A Room is built from sections placed inside tabs. Each section type serves a different purpose — some showcase content, some drive action, some track progress. This guide gives you a quick overview of every section type available in Aligned, with a link to the full article for each one.
Prerequisites & Requirements
Plan: Availability varies by section type — see each linked article for specifics.
Permissions: Any user with edit access to a Room can typically add sections, unless otherwise noted.
Content & Media Sections
Large Content Section
Best for high-impact visuals — a single, full-width image, video, or embedded content.
Recommended image size: 955x540 pixels.
Carousel Section
Best for showing multiple images, videos, or a series of slides that buyers can browse through. Add content from multiple sources.
Recommended image size: 605x405 pixels.

Embed Links
Embed almost any external webpage directly into a Large Content or Carousel section — useful for content beyond Aligned's native integrations.

Links & Examples
Share links and case studies, with bulk upload support for adding multiple items at once.
See full guide: Links & Examples Section: Share Links and Case Studies
Files Sharing
Enable mutual file and link sharing — both buyers and sellers upload in the same place.

Structural & Informational Sections
Welcome Section
Add a personalized introduction at the top of your Room — greet buyers by name and set context for what the Room is for.
Best placed as the first section on the first tab.
See full guide: Welcome Section
Text Section
Add formatted written content for introductions, summaries, or speaker notes. Also useful as a workaround for content from platforms that block iFrames.
Font/color customization not yet supported (logged as feature request).
See full guide: Text Section
Process Overview Section
Display a visual, step-by-step layout of a process or timeline — great for onboarding steps or implementation plans.
View-only for buyers; steps can be reordered by internal users.

Action & Engagement Sections
Call to Action (CTA) Section
Add interactive buttons to prompt buyers to respond, navigate to a tab, open an external resource, or submit a request. Get notified by email or Slack when a buyer clicks a button.
Button types: Can Response, Open a Tab, External Link, Request Button.
See full guide: Call to Action Section: Add Interactive Buttons to a Room
Next Steps Section
Run a mutual action plan inside the Room — add tasks, due dates, and owners so both seller and buyer teams track the deal timeline in one place. Buyers can attach files and links to each task.
Plan Section
Assign tasks with due dates directly to a prospect, customer, or colleague. Assignees get an emailed link straight to the task — no login required.
Team & Stakeholder Sections
Team Section
Shows all stakeholders involved in the deal — your team and, if enabled, the client's team — along with their contact details. Track engagement as stakeholders enter the Room.

Overflow & Mobile Considerations
Files Tab
For Rooms with heavy content, add extra assets in the Files tab to keep main tabs focused, and hide it when you don't need it.
Mobile View
Use short decks for mobile — add content from the Library or via embedded links.
Keeping Sections Up to Date
Sync Sections
Turn a List or Carousel section into a reusable, synced section so updates made once automatically apply everywhere it's used — no need to manually update every Room.
Currently supports List and Carousel sections only.

Troubleshooting & Common Questions
Which section should I use to show a video?
Use a Large Content section for a single video, or a Carousel section if you have multiple videos.
Can I reuse the same section across multiple Rooms without duplicating work?
Yes — use Sync Sections for List and Carousel sections, or the Content Library for Google Docs and other reusable media.
How do I know which section type is right for my use case?
Check the Quick Reference Table above, or open the full article for the section type you're considering.
Pro-Tips
Combine sections strategically: use a CTA section to drive buyers toward your Plan or Next Steps section.
Use Sync Sections for content that changes often (like pricing) so you only need to update it once.
Keep your Room focused — not every section type needs to be used in every Room.
