Call to Action section: Add interactive buttons to a Room

Add a Call to Action (CTA) section to prompt buyers to respond, navigate to a specific tab, open an external resource, or submit a request. Use CTA buttons to drive the next step without sending another email. Receive a notification when a buyer clicks a pre-set response, either by email or Slack (if you connect Slack). Configure CTA buttons to match your brand colors so they match the rest of your Room experience.

Prerequisites & Requirements

  • Plan: All plans.

  • Permissions: Any user with access to a room

  • Technical Specs: To send notifications to Slack -> Must connect to Slack integration (per-user integration).

How to add a CTA section to a Room

  1. Open the Room.

  2. Click Add section (➕).

  3. Select Call to Action (CTA).

  4. Add the buttons you want (see button types below).

  5. Save your changes.

CTA button types and when to use them

  1. Can Response Button:

    1. Use this button to offer a pre-written response buyers can click.

    2. Aligned notifies you when a buyer clicks it (email or Slack).

    3. What the Buyer sees: The buyer clicks the button and sends the pre-set response.

  2. Open a Tab Button

    1. Use this button to send buyers to a specific tab in the Room (for example, pricing or proposal).

    2. What the Buyer sees: The buyer clicks the button and lands on the target tab.

  3. External Link Button

    1. Use this button to open an external resource (for example, API docs).

    2. What the Buyer sees: The buyer clicks the button and opens the external link in a new browser tab.

  4. Request Button

    1. Use this button to collect questions or requests from buyers inside the Room.

    2. Aligned opens a pop-up so the buyer can type the request.

    3. What the Buyer sees: The buyer clicks the button, types the request in a pop-up, and submits it.

How to receive CTA notifications in Slack

  1. Go to My AccountSettingsIntegrations.

  2. Click Connect next to Slack integration.

  3. Choose where to send notifications:

    1. Aligned app in Slack (personal notifications), or

    2. A Slack channel (team visibility).

  4. Manage Room notification routing when needed:

    1. Click the gear icon next to the Room title.

    2. Open Notifications and choose Slack delivery options.

Troubleshooting & Error States

Q: I didn’t get Slack notifications after a buyer clicked a CTA button.

Answer: You need to connect Slack integration in My AccountSettingsIntegrations, then select a channel or Slack app delivery.

Q: I want CTA alerts only for me, not my whole team.

Answer: In Slack setup, choose Aligned app in Slack (personal notifications).

Q: I want buyers to navigate to pricing from a CTA click.

Answer: You can add an Open a Tab Button and point it to your pricing tab.

Pro-Tips

  • Add one primary CTA above the fold (example: Open a Tab Button to Pricing) and one fallback CTA (example: Request Button for questions) so buyers always have a next move.

  • Route Can Response Button clicks to a shared Slack channel when you run deals as a pod (AE + SE + CSM) and want the whole team to act on buyer signals.
