Overview
Add a Files Sharing section to enable mutual file and link sharing between you and your buyers — both sellers and buyers can upload content in the same place.
Prerequisites & Requirements
Plan: All plans (Files Sharing empty-state visibility and buyer uploads are supported on all plans).
Permissions: Sellers need Room editor access. Buyers need Room access (external user).
How to Use Files Sharing for Mutual File Exchange
Add a Files Sharing section to the Room.
Ask buyers to upload requested items (e.g. security questionnaires, procurement docs, approvals).
What the Buyer Sees
Aligned shows Files Sharing in preview mode even when the section starts empty.
Buyers can upload files even when the section has no files yet.
Buyers can select one or more files and download them in bulk or individually using the tick boxes.
Adding Buyer-Owned Assets
Use Files Sharing (or Next Steps) when you want buyers to contribute content as part of the process:
Add Next Steps when you want tasks + attachments together.
Add Files Sharing when you want a shared repository.
Aligned lets customers and prospects add their own files and content to both Next Steps and Files Sharing.
Pro-Tips
Use Files Sharing early in the deal so buyers upload their artifacts in one place, including when the section starts empty.
