Content Library analytics shows how clients engage with the files you keep in the Aligned Content Library, across every Room each file appears in. Each Library file shows its own views, total viewing time, and the number of Rooms it is used in. On the Enterprise plan, the Content Dashboard adds an account-wide view of your most engaged content, the content used in the most Rooms, and a sortable table of every item. Content Library analytics stay with a file when you add it to Rooms or archive it.
Prerequisites & Requirements
Plan: Content Analytics in the file drawer is available on all plans. The Content Dashboard is available on the Enterprise plan.
Permissions: Everyone on your team can open the Content Dashboard and see a file's analytics.
Content Analytics for a single file
Every Library file shows Content Analytics in its drawer. The drawer shows four metrics:
Content Views: the number of times the file was opened through its individual share link.
Room Views: the number of times the file was viewed inside a Room, across all Rooms, including Rooms that were deleted.
Used in rooms: the number of Rooms the file currently appears in.
Total time: the total time the file has been viewed.
A dash (-) means the file has no views of that type yet.
To open Content Analytics for a file:
Open the Library.
Find the file by browsing Company Library or My Library, or by using search.
Click the file to open its drawer.
Scroll to Content Analytics.
Clicks on Highspot and Seismic content embedded in a Room are tracked as views.
Advanced Content Analytics
Advanced Content Analytics appears below Content Analytics in every file drawer, whether you open the file from the Library or from the Content Dashboard. It ranks the file against the rest of your Library:
Most used: the file's rank by the number of Rooms it is used in.
Most viewed: the file's rank by the number of times it was viewed, including views in Rooms that were deleted.
Most engaged: the file's rank by the total time it has been viewed.
Downloaded: the file's rank by the number of downloads.
On the Free plan, the rankings are blurred and Click to reveal appears next to the heading.
To return to the Content Dashboard, click See full dashboard. The drawer closes and the full Content Dashboard is shown again.
How to open the Content Dashboard
The Content Dashboard is a tab on the Account overview page, next to the Manager's Dashboard.
In the left sidebar, click Account overview.
Click the Content Dashboard tab.
Choose a time range: Last 30 days, Last 60 days, Last 90 days, Last 12 months, or All time.
The default time range is Last 30 days. The time range applies to every section of the Content Dashboard.
What the Content Dashboard shows
The Content Dashboard has three sections.
Most engaged content ranks content by the total time it has been viewed in the selected time range. Each card shows the item's Total views.
Most used in rooms ranks content by the number of Rooms it is used in. Each item shows Used in and the number of Rooms.
Top Content analytics is a table of every item in the Library, with these columns:
Name
Total views, which you can sort
Total time
Downloads
Modified
To narrow the table, use the filters above it:
Content labels: show only items with specific Labels.
Content type: show only specific types, for example All Files, All Videos, All Links, or a specific source such as PandaDoc, Highspot, or Seismic.
Search item: find an item by name.
Click any item in the table to open its drawer.
How analytics behave when you update or archive content
Adding a file to a Room: the file's analytics stay connected across every Room it appears in.
Replacing a file in the Library: Room analytics continue, and the Room shows the latest version. The file's own counts in the drawer start again from zero.
Archiving a file: archived files keep their analytics and stay available in Rooms that already use them.
Limitations
The Content Dashboard is available on the Enterprise plan only.
Analytics show views and time per file, not page-by-page playback inside a document.
Files uploaded straight to a Room, without being saved to the Library, don't appear in Content Library analytics.
Troubleshooting & FAQ
Do my own views of a file count?
No. As in Room analytics, your own views of a file are not counted.
Will archiving a file delete its analytics?
No. An archived file keeps its analytics and stays available in Rooms that already use it.
Can clients see how many times a file was viewed?
No. Content Analytics appear only to your team, in the file drawer and on the Content Dashboard.
