Yes. You can assign a task to a prospect or customer by entering their email address, even if you have not shared the Room with them yet.
They do not need to join Aligned first.
How it works
Open the Next Steps section or the Plan tab.
Create the task.
Click the Assignee field.
Enter the buyer’s email address.
Add a due date if needed.
If you want them to receive an email right away, click Notify assignee.
The buyer can open the Room from the task email without creating an Aligned account.
Does the Room need to be shared first?
No. You can assign the task before you officially share the Room.
That said, best practice is to share the Room first by email or link, then assign the task as the next step. This usually feels more clear and more welcoming for the buyer.
What emails can the buyer receive?
A task email if you click Notify assignee
An overdue task email if the due date passes
Still not working?
If the buyer did not get the task email, click Notify assignee. Task emails are not sent automatically on every assignment.
If you want the buyer to enter the Room more smoothly, share the Room first from Share and then assign the task.
If you want to find the same person faster next time, connect Google Calendar, Email & Contacts so contacts are available for task assignment.
