The MCP Client lets the AI Seller Agent read content from your other tools while you work inside an Aligned room. With HubSpot or Notion connected, you can ask the AI Seller Agent to answer questions and draft room sections using content from those tools, without leaving the room. The MCP Client is read-only: the AI Seller Agent never creates, edits, or deletes anything in HubSpot or Notion. Each user connects with their own HubSpot or Notion account, so the AI Seller Agent can only reach records and pages that user can already open.
Prerequisites & Requirements
Plan: Free and Enterprise. Not available on Basic or Pro.
Role: Admins choose which groups can use each connector. Any user in a group the Admin has granted access to can connect it. To use a connector in a room, you need edit access to that room.
Technical: An active HubSpot or Notion account.
How to connect from the MCP Client page
To connect HubSpot or Notion from the MCP Client page:
Navigate to MCP → MCP Client from the left navigation bar, or go to Settings → MCP → MCP Client.
Find HubSpot or Notion in the connectors section.
Click Connect on the connector row.
Sign in to HubSpot or Notion in the new tab and approve access.
Return to Aligned. The connector row now shows Disconnect.
How to connect from inside a room
To connect HubSpot or Notion without leaving a room:
Open a room and open the AI Seller Agent panel.
Click +, then Connectors.
Click the Connect toggle next to HubSpot or Notion.
Click Connect in the connector modal.
Approve access in the new tab.
Return to the room. Aligned keeps your scroll position and any text in the composer, and the connector toggle is on.
A connector toggle stays on for all future AI Seller Agent chats until you turn it off.
What buyers see
Buyers never see connectors, connector toggles, or AI Seller Agent chats. Buyers only see the content after you add a section to the room and publish it.
How to disconnect a connector
To disconnect HubSpot or Notion:
Navigate to MCP → MCP Client from the left navigation bar, or go to Settings → MCP → MCP Client.
Click Disconnect on the connector row.
A confirmation message appears: "The agent will no longer be able to read from [Connector's name]."
Click Disconnect.
Disconnecting takes effect immediately. The AI Seller Agent stops reading that tool in all chats.
How Admins choose which groups can use a connector
Admins choose which groups can use each connector:
Navigate to MCP → MCP Client from the left navigation bar, or go to Settings → MCP → MCP Client.
Open the groups dropdown next to the Connect button on the connector row.
Select one or more groups, or select None to deny access to that connector.
The default is All groups. With None selected, no user can use the connector, and users who had connected it are disconnected. Once the Admin grants access to a group again, users in that group can connect it again.
Limitations
Available connectors: HubSpot and Notion only. Custom MCP servers are not currently supported.
Read-only: The AI Seller Agent cannot create, edit, or delete data in HubSpot or Notion.
Per-user connections: Connectors belong to each user, not to the room. An Admin opening your room sees the Admin's own connectors only.
Troubleshooting & FAQ
HubSpot or Notion is missing from the Connectors menu
What this means: Your Admin has not granted the connector to any of your groups, or has since removed your group's access.
How to fix it: Ask your Admin to grant your group access to the connector.
"No longer available — your admin restricted access"
What this means: You connected this tool before, but your Admin has since removed your group's access, so Aligned disconnected you. The connector no longer appears in the AI Seller Agent's Connectors menu, and its row on the MCP Client page is greyed out.
How to fix it: Ask your Admin to grant your group access to the connector, then connect it again.
"Complete the CRM integration with Aligned and sync the room to a deal, to unlock additional capabilities and recommendations."
What this means: The HubSpot connector is on, but the room is not synced to a HubSpot deal, so Aligned's AI deal insights are not active.
How to fix it: Connect the native HubSpot integration and sync the room to its deal.
Q: Can the AI Seller Agent change data in HubSpot or Notion?
No. The AI Seller Agent can only read HubSpot and Notion and cannot create, edit, or delete anything in either tool.
Q: Do I need to turn a connector on again in every chat?
No. A connector toggle stays on across all future AI Seller Agent chats until you turn it off.
Q: What is the difference between turning a connector off and disconnecting it?
Turning the toggle off keeps your connection, so the AI Seller Agent stops reading that tool until you turn the toggle back on, with no need to sign in again. Disconnecting removes the connection entirely, so you need to connect and approve access again to use that tool.
Q: Can I use the HubSpot connector and the native HubSpot integration together?
Yes. The native HubSpot integration keeps the room synced to its deal, and the HubSpot connector lets the AI Seller Agent read other HubSpot records your own HubSpot account can open.
Q: How is the HubSpot connector different from the native HubSpot integration?
The native HubSpot integration syncs a specific deal to a room and enables Aligned's advanced capabilities, such as AI deal insights and AI highlights. The HubSpot connector lets the AI Seller Agent read HubSpot information, but does not activate those Aligned AI capabilities.
Q: What is the difference between the MCP Client and Aligned MCP?
The MCP Client lets the AI Seller Agent inside Aligned read from other apps, such as HubSpot and Notion. Aligned MCP works the other way: it lets an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT query and build Aligned rooms.
