Room Invites: Send from your own email address

Aligned sends Room invites from an Aligned email address by default. Connect Google Calendar, Email & Contacts to send Room invites from your own email address instead. Use this to help recipients recognize the sender, reduce “unknown sender” hesitation, and improve email deliverability. Your invite also shows your name and email, so buyers can attribute room activity to a real stakeholder.

Prerequisites & Requirements

  • Plan: All plans.

  • Permissions: Any internal user can connect Google Calendar, Email & Contacts for their own account (user-level integration). Aligned uses the connected email address only when that user sends a Room invite via Share via EmailPreview & Send.

  • Technical Specs: Requires enabling the Google Calendar, Email & Contacts integration and signing in to Google to connect the sender account.

How to connect Google Calendar, Email & Contacts

  1. In Aligned, go to My AccountSettingsIntegrations -> My integrations.

  2. Click Connect to Google Calendar, Email & Contacts.

  3. Complete Google sign-in to connect your account.

How to send a Room invite from your own email address

  1. Open the Room you want to share.

  2. Click Share (top right).

  3. In Share via Email, click Preview & Send.

  4. In the side drawer, open the sender field and select your connected email address.

  5. Confirm the From field shows your email.

  6. Open the “To” field and select the recipient email address.

  7. You can choose email template, update subject and email body.

  8. Then click Send Invite.

What the Buyer sees

  • The invite email shows your name and email in the From field.

  • The buyer can reply directly to your email address (based on your email client settings).

  • This setting affects email invites only. Aligned does not apply it to shared links or other notifications.


Troubleshooting & Error States

I don’t see my email as a sender option.

Connect Google Calendar, Email & Contacts in My AccountSettingsIntegrations -> My intergatins.

Invites still come from an Aligned email address.

Open Preview & Send and select your email in the sender field before you click Send.

Buyer sees “Access Denied.”

Re-invite the buyer from the Room using Share via Email so Aligned applies the correct access.

Buyer sees “Link Expired.”

Send a new invite from the Room using ShareShare via Email.

Security & Operations (Optional)

  • Aligned uses the connected Google account to send the invite email when you select your address in the sender field.

Pro-Tips

  • Connect the same Google account you use for customer communication to keep sender identity consistent.

  • Send a test invite to yourself and check the From field before you invite a buying group.

  • If the integration isn’t connected, invites will continue to be sent from the default Aligned email address.
