Transfer Room ownership when another teammate needs to manage sharing permissions, delete the Room, or change key Room settings. Use the in-Room flow for a fast handoff, or use the Rooms list when you manage multiple Rooms. Keep the Room moving when the original owner changes territories, goes on leave, or hands off an account. Aligned updates ownership immediately after you confirm.

Technical Specs:
Transfer ownership only to a teammate in your workspace (don’t transfer to external guests).
Give the new owner an active seat in your workspace.
Add the new owner to the Room before you transfer ownership (or add them during the transfer flow).
How to transfer Room ownership from inside the Room
Open the Room.
Click Share (top-right).
Click Share with my team.
Find a teammate.
Click Set as Room Owner.
Click Yes to confirm.

Buyers don’t see Room ownership changes.
How to transfer Room ownership from the Rooms list
Go to the Main Dashboard -> Rooms table.
Find the Room.
Click the sushi menu (more).
Click Share → Share with my team.
Select the teammate.
Click Set as Room owner.
Click Yes to confirm.
Troubleshooting & Error States
Q: “I can’t change the Room owner.”
Answer: You need to be the Room Owner or a Workspace Admin.
Q: “I can’t transfer ownership to an external guest.”
Answer: You can select only a teammate from your workspace.
Q: “I can’t find my teammate to share with my team.”
Answer: Add the teammate to your workspace and confirm they have an active seat.
Pro-Tips
Keep the previous owner as a collaborator unless you want to remove them after the handoff.
The transfer takes effect immediately. The previous owner remains a collaborator in the Room unless you remove them.
