Plan tab (MAP): Shift dates in bulk, notify assignees, and track progress

The difference between the 'plan section' in the overview and the separate 'plan' tab.

Shift MAP timelines without editing each step one by one. Notify assignees across the entire Plan in a single send and link them straight to their pending work. Track MAP completion from the Rooms dashboard using the Progress column. Use these actions when a timeline slips, ownership changes, or you run weekly execution check-ins.

Prerequisites & Requirements

  • Plan: Free, Basic, Pro, Enterprise (all plans)

  • Permissions: Users, Admins, and above can:

    • Shift MAP dates in bulk

    • Notify assignees at the MAP level

  • Technical Specs:

    • Run bulk date updates only in Edit mode in the Plan tab

    • Track tasks assigned through the Plan tab from Task manager (work email accounts only)

How to shift MAP dates in bulk

  1. Open the Room.

  2. Click the Plan tab.

  3. Switch to Edit mode.

  4. Click Bulk date update.

  5. Select Move earlier or Move later.

  6. Select the unit: Days, Weeks, or Months.

  7. Apply the change.


How it works

  • Shift dates for all steps and subtasks that already have dates.

  • Shift both start and end dates.

  • Keep completed steps unchanged.

  • Keep steps without dates unchanged.

What the Buyer sees

  • Buyers see the updated dates on steps you changed in the Plan tab.

How to notify assignees at the MAP level

  1. Open the Room.

  2. Click the Plan tab.

  3. Click Notify assignees.

  4. Review the assignee list and their step counts (Open, Overdue, Completed).

  5. Select one or more assignees.

  6. Click Send.

What the Buyer sees

  • Each selected assignee receives one email with a direct link to the Plan tab.

How to track Plan progress from the Rooms dashboard

  1. Go to Rooms.

  2. Find the Progress column.

  3. Use Progress to prioritize follow-ups across Rooms.

  4. Open a Room and complete steps in the Plan tab to move the progress bar.

Troubleshooting & Error States

I can’t shift dates in bulk.

Be sure you have tasks with due-dates. If yes, be sure to switch to Edit mode in the Plan tab.

Some steps didn’t move after I ran a bulk update.

Shift only steps/subtasks with existing dates. Keep completed steps and steps without dates unchanged.

I can’t find an assignee in the MAP-level notify list.

Assign that person at least one step in the Plan tab, then open Notify assignees again.

I see an empty progress for a Room in the Rooms dashboard.

Add steps in the Plan tab. Progress uses the steps defined in the Plan tab.


Pro-Tips

  • Shift dates in bulk right after you agree on a new target date so every owner sees the same timeline.

  • Use MAP-level notifications once per weekly check-in to avoid step-by-step email noise.c
