With the Close CRM integration you can now link you Aligned account and its deal rooms to a Close CRM Lead and log Aligned engagement analytics to the Lead’s timeline. This would allow you to maintain your Close CRM lead updated automatically.
Prerequisites
Plan: Enterprise
Role (account-level setup): Aligned Admin
Role (room-level connection): Room Owner
Technical: An active Close CRM account and Admin permissions to generate an API key.
How to Connect Close CRM at the Account Level
Log in to Aligned as an Admin.
Go to Settings → Integrations → Close CRM → “Connect”.
You would be requested to enter your Close CRM API key
How to generate your Close CRM API key?
a. Go to Close CRM website → Settings → connect → developer → “New API Key”
b. Enter a name you choose for the API key and make sure you save the key (once generated, you cannot generate it again, only a new one).
Back in Aligned, paste the API key and confirm.
How to Configure Account-Level Integration Settings
Once the integration is done, an Admin can open the settings next to the integration and configure the following:
Manually connect rooms to Close (default: ON). When enabled, room owners decide which rooms to link to a Close CRM Lead.
Mandatory sync all new rooms with CRM (default: OFF). When enabled, every new room must be connected to a Dynamics record at the moment of creation. Room creation is blocked until a record is selected.
Link your deal rooms to a “Close” Lead
Link Close Lead to a new Room
Create a new Aligned Room and give it a name.
When prompted to Search a CRM → search for the “Close” Lead name.
Select the Lead and click Link.
Link Close Lead to an existing Room
Option 1: Link via the Rooms dashboard
Go to the Rooms Dashboard.
Click the CRM column for the room you want to connect (The CRM column is added to the dashboard automatically after the account-level connection).
In the CRM drawer, select the Close Lead → Connect.
Option 2: Connect from Inside an existing Aligned Room
Open the room you want to connect.
Click Room Settings → Integrations.
Select the Lead → Connect
What gets logged to Close (Lead activity log)
Aligned sends all your engagement metrics to the Close CRM timeline.
Disconnecting the Integration
Go to Settings → Integrations.
Scroll to Close.
Click Disconnect (or Replace key to rotate credentials).
Troubleshooting
Permission required: You must be an Aligned Admin and have “Close” permissions to create API keys.
Lead not found: Ensure you have access to that Lead in Close and search by the exact Lead name.
Opportunity linking: Not supported. You can link only to a Lead.
Mobile: No dedicated mobile spec for this integration.
Plan check: Integration is available on Enterprise plans only.
