Close CRM integration

Connect Aligned to Close to link Rooms to Leads and log key buyer activity to the Lead timeline.

Requirements

  • Who can connect: Aligned Admin/Owner with permission in Close to create API keys

  • Plan: Enterprise

  • Object supported (v1): Lead (Opportunities not supported)


Connect Close

  1. In Aligned (Admin), go to Settings → Integrations.

  2. Find Close → click Connect.

  3. In Close: Integrations → Developer → New API key → name it → GenerateCopy.

  4. Back in Aligned: Paste the API key → Confirm.

  5. Status shows Connected.

Optional (admin settings):
Settings → Integrations → Close → Settings

  • Manually connect Rooms (ON by default)

  • Mandatory sync all new Rooms (OFF)


Link a Room to a Close Lead

From a new Room

  1. Create the Room → when prompted to connect a CRM, search for the Close Lead.

  2. Select the LeadLink.

From an existing Room – option A (Rooms table)

  1. Open Rooms.

  2. In the CRM column for your Room, click the cell → Search Close LeadLink.

From an existing Room – option B (inside Room)

  1. Open the Room → Room header → Settings → CRM.

  2. Search Close LeadLink.


What Aligned logs to Close

The following events appear on the Lead activity log:

  • Room Opened

  • Room Shared

  • Buyer Commented

  • Buyer Downloaded content

  • MAP updates:

    • User X completed the step: Y

    • User X unchecked the step: Y


Disconnect or rotate the key

  1. Settings → IntegrationsClose.

  2. Click Disconnect (or Replace key to rotate credentials).


FAQ

Does this write to Opportunities?

Not in v1—Lead only.

Who can set up the integration?

Aligned Admins/Owners with permission to create API keys in Close.

Is there a ‘sync all Rooms automatically’ option?

Yes—toggle it in Settings → Integrations → Close → Settings (default OFF).


Troubleshooting

“Lead not found” when linking

  • Verify you have access to that Lead in Close.

  • Search by the exact Lead name.

No activity appearing in Close

  • Confirm the Room is linked to a Close Lead.

  • Check the Close API key is valid (rotate if needed).

  • Make sure the activity you expect is one of the supported events listed above.

Permission errors

  • You must be an Aligned Admin/Owner.

  • Your Close user must be allowed to create/manage API keys.
