Set up a custom domain to share Aligned rooms using your own branded URL.
Prerequisites & Requirements
Plan: Enterprise plan only
Technical: Access to your DNS host (generally your web host)
Choosing Your Domain
Your custom domain should follow this structure: subdomain.yourdomain.com
Some examples:
aligned.yourdomain.com
team.yourdomain.com
sales.yourdomain.com
Choose a subdomain that feels on-brand and conveys the right meaning for your team and prospects.
How to Set Up Your Custom Domain
Step 1: Configure your DNS host
Log in to your DNS host (wherever your domain is managed).
Navigate to DNS Settings.
Add a new CNAME record with the following details:
Field | Value |
Name | Your chosen subdomain (e.g. proposals) |
Type | CNAME |
Value | custom-domain.teamaligned.com |
Example:
If your chosen domain is proposals.yourdomain.com:
Name: proposals
Type: CNAME
Value: custom-domain.teamaligned.com
Step 2: Notify the Aligned team
Once your DNS record is set up, let our support team know your chosen domain. We'll handle the rest on our end.
What Happens After Setup
Once the connection is confirmed:
Your Aligned rooms will be accessible via your new custom domain
All new client shared links will be generated using your custom domain
Existing my.teamaligned.com/room/… links will continue to work and remain supported
Link Persistence and Redirects
Token Stability: Room URLs and tokens are designed to stay unchanged for buyers, even during account transitions or upgrades.
Automatic Forwarding: Old URLs using the teamaligned.com subdomain will automatically redirect to your new custom domain, allowing prospects to access the room without needing new links.
Deliverability: This system ensures that the "single link" buyer experience is preserved, preventing the chaos of outdated or contradicting materials that Aligned is designed to solve.
