Connect Gong to add call recordings to your Rooms and Library without downloading and re-uploading files. Search Gong recordings by name and date, then place them directly in the right Room or save them once in the Library for reuse. Admins connect Gong at the account level, so the integration affects all users in the workspace. If you approve the updated Gong permissions, Aligned can also send supported Room activities to Gong’s timeline.

Not every Aligned admin can perform the integration. The user used to connect to Gong must also have the required permissions in Gong.
Aligned shows only non-private calls and calls in Public Folders when you select a Gong recording.
How to connect Gong to Aligned
Go to My Account → Settings → Integrations -> Account Integrations.
Find Gong.
Click Connect.
Click Allow to approve the connection.
After you connect Gong, Aligned adds Gong as an available content source in Rooms and Library.
How to add a Gong recording to a Room
You can add a Gong recording in two ways.
Option 1: Add a Gong section
Open the Room.
Click Add section.
Search for Gong in Integrations.
Select Gong.
Search for the recording by name or date.
Enter a display name for the recording.
Choose if to add to the library or not.
Click Save.
Option 2: Add Gong from a section flow
Open the Room.
Click Add section.
Add a section that supports Gong content.
Choose the Gong format.
Search for the recording by name or date.
Enter a display name.
Choose if to add to the library or not.
Click Save.
What the Buyer sees
The buyer sees the Gong recording inside the Room.
The buyer opens the recording from the Room instead of searching for it in email or Gong.
How to add a Gong recording to the Library
Open Library.
Click Upload.
Select Link or Embedded Link.
Past the Gong call recording URL.
Enter a Name and description (Optional).
Click Save.
Use this flow when you want to reuse the same recording across multiple Rooms.
How to update Gong permissions
Use this flow if Aligned shows a banner asking you to update Gong permissions.
Log in to Aligned.
Click Update on the Gong permissions banner.
Review the requested permissions.
Approve the update.
After you approve, Aligned syncs the updated Gong integration within about 15 minutes.

Troubleshooting & Error States
Q: Why can’t I connect Gong?
Answer: Not every Aligned admin can connect Gong. The user used for the integration must also have the required permissions in Gong.
Q: I can’t find a call when I search Gong recordings.
Answer: Search for a non-private call or a call saved in a Public Folder. Aligned doesn’t show private Gong calls.
Q: I connected Gong in one workspace, and now I can’t connect it in another.
Answer: Use a Gong account that is not already connected to another Aligned workspace. A Gong account can belong to only one workspace connection.
Q: I approved the updated permissions, but I still don’t see Gong activity sync.
Answer: Wait up to 15 minutes, then check again.
Security & Operations
Gong is an account-level integration, so admins manage the connection for the workspace.
Updated Gong permissions let Aligned send supported buyer activity signals to Gong’s timeline. Aligned sends the full supported set when permissions are granted; you can’t choose individual activity types today.
If you don’t approve the updated permissions, older synced data stays visible in Gong, but new supported activities won’t sync.
