Connect Gong to add call recordings to your Rooms and Library without downloading and re-uploading files. You can also embed Gong calls directly without requiring admin setup.
You have multiple ways to add Gong recordings:
Search: Find recordings by name and date using the Gong integration (admin setup required).
Paste call URL: Paste a call URL from Gong directly into Aligned (admin setup required).
Embed: Paste a Gong embed link directly into your Room (no admin setup needed).
Place recordings directly in the right Room, or save them once in the Library for reuse across multiple Rooms. Admins connect Gong at the account level, so the integration affects all users in the workspace. If you approve the updated Gong permissions, Aligned can also send supported Room activities to Gong's timeline.

Permissions: Admin connects Gong at the account level.
Any user in the account can use the connected integration afterward.
Technical Specs:
Gong connects at the account level, not per user.
Changes affect all users in the workspace.
Not every Aligned admin can perform the integration. The user used to connect to Gong must also have the required permissions in Gong.
How to Connect Gong to Aligned
Go to My Account → Settings → Integrations → Account Integrations.
Find Gong.
Click Connect.
Click Allow to approve the connection.
After you connect Gong, Aligned adds Gong as an available content source in Rooms and Library.
How to Add a Gong Recording to a Room
You can add a Gong recording in two ways.
Option 1: Search for a Recording in Aligned
Open the Room.
Click Add section, search for Gong, and select it.
Enter a search term (call name or date range).
Select the recording from results.
Enter a display name (optional).
Click Save.
Option 2: Paste a Gong Call URL
In Gong:
Navigate to the call you want to add.
Copy the URL from your browser's address bar when viewing the call.
Then, in Aligned:
Open the Room.
Click Add section, search for Gong, and select it.
In the Paste Gong call URL field, paste the URL you copied from Gong.
Click Add.
Note: You can only share the entire call URL, not a snippet or timestamp.
How to Add a Gong Embed (No Admin Setup Required)
You can embed a Gong recording directly using an embed link without requiring admin setup.
Add a Gong Embed to Your Room
In Gong:
Navigate to the call you want to embed.
Click Share.
Click on “Share with customers”
Open the dropdown from the “Copy link” button, and click on “embed link”
Make sure to check access expire date, as it will impact your clients ability to access the call
Then, in Aligned:
Open the Room.
Click Add section and search for Gong Embed.
Select Gong Embed.
In the Paste embed link from Gong field, paste the link you copied.
Click Add.
Important: This link expires based on your Gong sharing settings. Once the link expires in Gong, clients can't watch this call in the Room.
What the Buyer Sees
The buyer sees the Gong recording inside the Room.
The buyer opens the recording from the Room instead of searching for it in email or Gong.
Troubleshooting

A: Make sure it's a non-private call or saved in a Public Folder. Aligned doesn't show private Gong calls. If you're looking for older recordings, expand the date range in the date picker or use the paste URL option.

A: The default date range is 2 weeks back. Click to expand the range, or use the paste URL option (Option 2) if you have the direct link.

A: Not every Aligned admin can connect Gong. The user performing the integration must have the required permissions in Gong.

A: Use a Gong account that isn't already connected to another Aligned workspace. A Gong account can only belong to one workspace connection.
Security & Operations
Gong is an account-level integration, so admins manage the connection for the workspace.
Updated Gong permissions let Aligned send supported buyer activity signals to Gong's timeline. Aligned sends the full supported set when permissions are granted; you can't choose individual activity types today.
If you don't approve the updated permissions, older synced data stays visible in Gong, but new supported activities won't sync.
